Production of Teaching Materials - Films and Study Units The Raab Holocaust Education Center at Michlalah has launched a unique project developing teaching units consisting of documentary films and study units on religious steadfastness and faith during the Holocaust. Three testimony films have been produced thus far and work has begun on three additional films: Double Gift, a film for young children; Young Moshe, about Moshe Flinker; and a film about hidden children. The films are based on testimonies documented in conjunction with Yad Vashem, Ginzach Kiddush Hashem, and the Survivors of the SHOAH - Visual History Archives. The films are historical and serve as a powerful educational tool for strengthening Jewish identity and reinforcing Jewish pride. Documentary films produced by the Raab Holocaust Education Center
The film explores the significance of Passover - the Festival of Freedom - in a time of destruction and extermination. The film documents the testimony of survivors who, even when under the Nazi boot, kept the mitzvot of Passover, lived according to the Jewish calendar, maintained the tradition of asking halakhic questions, and retained their spiritual freedom.
The film presents fascinating and moving testimony of Jews who, even in the shadow of death - in the ghettoes, in the concentration camps, and on the death marches - continued to don tefillin as part of their courageous and tenacious spiritual struggle. The film explores the spiritual connection between a Jew and his tefillin and the significance of this commandment in a Jew's life.
This is a two-film series about roots, touching on the life experience of Jews throughout Europe before the Holocaust. Testimonies of Jews demonstrate that the source of their iron will and capacity to hold on to their Jewish identity was, ultimately, their home.
A film based on the poems of Leah Nebenzahl, who as an infant was left by her parents with a Polish neighbor for her protection. Leah was adopted by a Polish couple, but at the age of five she was found by her aunt and brought to Eretz Israel. In her poems, Leah looks back at her life and at what it means to have been a hidden child who survived to raise a family in Jerusalem, Israel.
