A SCROLL OF AGONY THE WARSAW DIARY OF CHAIM A. KAPLAN Katsch, A.I (editor and translator) New York: Collier Books, 1965
This diary in unique in that it is the only major document from the Holocaust period written in the Hebrew language. It provides a full account of the beginning of Nazi dominance in Poland, as well as a chronicle of life in the ghetto. The diary portrays the Jews’ heroic struggle to maintain a spiritual, religious, and educational life, and to retain their dignity and integrity as human beings at a time when most of the world inhumanely looked aside.
